Abstract
Coconut is currently very popular as a fresh drink in Palu City and very popular in Central Sulawesi. Pewunu Village is located on the Palu-Proud axis road which is one of the villages in West Dolo District which consists of 5 (five) Hamlets in Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi. Where the community is generally copra coconut farmers and this area is the center of coconut production in Central Sulawesi which is an importer of young coconuts for the Palu city area as well as sales of coconut belts. In their daily life, they still process coconut into copra, using the traditional method. They market by waiting for collectors from Palu City to come to buy community copra to be exported to big cities in Indonesia which have copra and coconut coir processing factories. In particular, coconut husks are purchased by the company from Koya Palu and several other cities in Indonesia, then processed by the company and then exported to China. Local people use coconut coir only as fuel for making red bricks, but there is
still a lot of coconut coir left and piled up in people's yards which become copra agricultural waste and are not utilized. Sometimes people burn the coir waste because it becomes a heap of garbage which is quite disturbing and can become a home for wild snakes from their gardens. The community is not able to use coir waste to be processed into new technology-based materials, this is also due to the background of the people in this village which is only based on traditional agriculture. So that the activity partners who have been the government's place for several times held training for the village community. Therefore, it is expected to be a place for developing community skills in the manufacture of precast concrete boards usingcoconut fiber as mortar material.
